Plenum Install

I dunno, I can see atleast a dozen possible problem areas with no stand offs. I have seen the hose dan is supplying with his kit. I have used this exact hose for other stuff and it is not the most pliable stuff. sourced it from mcmaster. but hey, I'm relying on who ever installs it and has some good info to rely on.

What did you use the same hose on that gives you concerns?
some other applications not for intake but for lab use. extremely stiff wired semi smooth interior but not flush hard greyish beige hose. black reinforced interior material over the internal wire. dan had sent me pics and noticed it's the same or appears the same.
Guys, the intake itself needs no mounts. With it installed properly it will not go anywhere. If a mounting post was needed I surely would have attached one. The hose is very durable as I did plenty of research and time into getting the right stuff that will hold up. And no, it is not the same stuff you find at McMaster.
My point of making the kit was to get rid of the large fuel filter and make a plenum that smooth flowing with no restrictions. If anyone wants more info on this then they can PM me.

don, have you installed this on your own turbo? and are there any areas that is in contact with the firewall, engine or any areas thay may cause any issues? one of the reasons I ask is that the hose you use is much larger in diameter than the fvd hose. correct?
by the way you might want to check with mcmaster if you already haven't they might have better hose selections. it's the bible for mfgrs/engineers and designers.

Some apllications use silicon hose like Gemballa (sure Craig has it) surely that would be at risk of heat also! I don't know, obviously there is heat around but how Hot!
One thing I did notice a while back on a RUF plenum that it was covered with a fire proof (heat resistant) fabric tape, this might be worth doing just for some added protection.
Oak, yes I have my kit installed in my car and I was worried at first about impingment/ abrading issues but when I installed the hose in my car I saw no issues with any hang ups or sharp objects rubbing against the hose. The hose itself is VERY durable and will hold up just fine IMO. Dont think I would install it on my car if I had a second thought about it.
