Bot an 02tt w/ 38K black/black w/ an Upsolute chip for 58K. Just had 30K service done in April. Still smells new inside. No 2nd gear issues at 6K, pulls fine in 3rd. Keeping my fingers crossed on both of those but hopefully w/ 38K the 2nd gear issues would have already raised its ugly head.

I want to thank everyone here for all the help. Talk about a learning curve-there's no telling how long it would have taken me to find out the info I have learned here in a month or so.

Now the question- I am putting new tires on it-the Michelins. My question is what size should I get? Factory or should I go a little bigger. Other than the chip the car is stock ie not lowered, etc. I'd like a little more aggressive look if it won't F anything up. Factory wheels. Ideas?

Which Michelins...go 235/40 and 315/30...no problemo get the cups IMO.

Got the Michelin's put on today-night and day difference vs the pzeros. Gonna start w/ an exhaust since I have the Upsolute and see what kind of hp I can make before going w/ the major redo.

chip and exhaust are like pot.....nothing but a gateway drug!

Wow $Manager - that is a great deal for an 02 with low miles. How did you come across this car? Was it from a certain want ad/internet ad or... I assume it was a private party sale and not a dealer? Are you going to look into an extended warranty?

I have been looking for one for a couple months. I also have a client who owns a Mits dealership who was helping. He found the car at another dealer where it had been traded in two days prior. He bot the car from the other guys at wholesale [or closer to it than I could have gotten anyway] and flipped to me for same. Thanks for the compliments, looking forward to "the mod journey."
