Race Gas Concentrate anyone heard of this?

Torco racing fuels has a concentrate 32 oz/ 10 gallons which is suppose to make up to 104 octane race gas? Anyone heard of this it is technically not an octane booster but what they use to mix their own race gas?

Torco works great. I have used it in many of my cars when on race mode.

Have you used this specific product? I called them to ask them how is this different than an octane booster which we all know doesn't really work? He said that the octane boosters are alcohol based and this concentrate is actually petroleum based. It actually bonds with the fuel and boosts the octane. 32 oz / 10 gallons makes 104 octane. They have been selling it since 1995 and have had no issues. They sell race fuel so I don't see a reason why they would make this up. He said they had tested it with pump fuel to see that it actually increased the octane as advertised.

This is way cheaper than race gas, I am just amazed that I have not heard of this before?

The claim of what the product does makes it an octane booster
by definition. I have no opinion on how/whether it works.

Something I don't understand...32 oz/10 gallons of what? 91 octane, 85 octane? I think not. I find it hard to believe the claims being made...and not having anyone with issues is meaningless. I want actual data of before and after octane measures. Most "boosters" do not increase octane that much.

A guy on the Vette Forum did do before and after octane measures.
I cant remember his name. But that is why I got some. It was a few years ago. But the stuff works. I used it on my LPE TT Vette that had over 1000 HP.( 847rwhp )
Drove and race it all night and all summer for 2 years. And used this stuff most of the time when on race mode.

32oz mixed with 10 gallons of 93 octane is suppose to make 104 octane fuel.

It's probably a MMT based octane booster. Search for my thread on "Octanium" for more info. If someone wants to send me a can of this sauce, I can run it through the 'ol chromatograph and see what's under the hood.

In short: You can significantly alter octane with only 32 oz as it's not an aromatic hydrocarbon like most boosters, however, it suffers some of the drawbacks of leaded gas due to the metal content. Good backup when you can't find race gas, but not as good as the real deal.

This is very interesting. I was told that race gas would not make a difference unless you had a race file. Interested to hear more!

i dont know if i would risk my engine running the race file with more timing on that octane booster...

my 103 race file seems to run well on 100 pump race fuel though, so i guess there is compensation in the tune for lower octane but just how much?
