JIC Suspension in - 1st Impressions
Picked up my car yesterday. Had about a 50 mile trip home over varying road quality. A couple of people PM'ed me for my impressions so here goes:
Its going to be a love/hate relationship, just like with the Fabspeed loud exhaust. When I was driving aggressively under full boost (I got up over 100 mph a couple of times) on a good road, it was awesome. The suspension really hunkered down and added to the car's responsiveness.
At low speeds or on surface streets that aren't so good it was a total PITA. The beating my butt dyno took was one thing, but I wasn't prepared for how much extra steering adjustment I had to do. I was constantly having to correct everything.
Now I will say the alignment hasn't been done yet, but I don't think it will help the faults.
Not saying I'm unhappy, but I'm glad it isn't my every day driver any more.......
Next up......installing a 9ff valvetronic exhaust.

I am having the JIC coilover setup installed shortly and I was told very specifically without the alignment and corner weighting it would definetly be off. I would wait until you have that done as its such and integral part of the install and product and then update us on your impressions.
I am having installation done and driving straight to the alignment/corner weighting dude.

My JIC install included alignment and 4 corner balancing, I would reserve all comments until the job is completed, I think you will be VERY happy.
Must admit that guys who tend toward the JIC set up instead of say PSS9's care more about performance then a slightly worse ride on the street.
My car is at full race set up, -3.5 camber in the front, heaviest springs you can get with JIC and still feels fine on the street.

If you lowered the car your camber is going to be all over the place along with the toe. The camber alone will cause the car to wander all over the place. Get it setup then see if you like it the car will not handle like that with a good alignment.
Have had mine for one week. Got the mid level spring set, -1.6 front and -2.1 rear camber. Aligned and 4 point balanced. 1.5 inches lower. Haven't been to the track yet, but I really like it so far. Very solid, responsive, NO wandering.
Got the Tarett drop links at the recommendation/insistence of my installer. Do not expect any problems, as the guy has set up many cars for the track.
