Drag Times Evolution thread (part 2)
Drag Times Evolution thread (part 2)
Scott, what's the best time run on stock K16's? Here's my info from today - I couldn't be happier:
Best ET: 11.6539 @ 123.33mph
Best MPH: 126.50mph

Here's the original thread from June where I ran a previous best of 12.48 @ 113.17mph: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=85471
Shaved 8-tenths off and gained 10mph. Not too shabby.
Since then, I have added the following modifications courtesy of Stephen at Imagine Auto:
- GIAC Programming w/ flashloader
- EVOMS 1bar wastegate actuators
- Carbon/Ceramic clutch disk with upgraded Sachs pressure plate and LWFW
That's it! I'm telling you, I love this thing more and more every day! Finally got my boost hose sorted out late last night, and I had 10gal of VP109 staring me in the face here. What else was I to do? Weather was more or less perfect today - 75F and overcast with a bit of a headwind. Got 6 runs in, and I'm still getting boost spikes between shifts, but it settled to 1.1bar throughout the runs (everything was 11.65-11.93). Launch was ****, but my best run I slipped it out effin hard and the car really rocketed off. I was surprised to see it was only a 1.94, but I had no wheel-hop or spin which made my 1-2 shift much much better.
Best run of the day was against a 997C2S. Bone stock and a tip, the chick was running 12.7 @ 111mph. I was really impressed.
See Alex - I wore my helmet this time!

LOL thanks bro! Someone told me I was "the Stig's evil brother".
I know these K16's must be running out of puff by now, but man the thing pulled so frikkin hard on the "Race" file. The EVOMS IC's go in next week to help offset some of that. Maybe I'll be happy enough with them.... NAH. Can't wait to step up to bigger snails under there!
I'm thinking my poor mph previously may have been due to crapped-out stock w'gate actuators, because today it just pulled like a *****.

Jimmer...NICE JOB! You are #2! The fastest times for stock K16's are below:
11.44x @ 124.0 - Autoaddictions (AWD)
11.653 @ 123.3 - Jimmer (AWD)
11.654 @ 126.0 - Divexxtreme (AWD)
Great job, bro! You should be thrilled.

Thanks Markski/Scott, it really means a lot. I couldn't have done it without your advice and this site over the past year!
Scott I nipped you there by a hundy - wow you're a great driver!
So there's not much more I can expect to squeeze out of these suckers eh? Damn, 11.44 is good. With a 1.7-1.8 60' + the new IC's (to offset the heat I'm pumping in now) I think I could nab that top K16 spot. We'll see in 3 weeks when I go back, but in all honesty today was the best prepped I've seen a track here in the UK (and I ran in the lane where they were putting all the top fuel and funny car guys laying down tons of rubber).
Markski, yeah Steve-O (big props to Stephen for hooking me up with a killer combo) and I had some convos regarding the actuator upgrade, and he figured that it couldn't hurt as long as I didn't get carried away. My rationale went something like "well if I blow them up, we'll just put bigger ones on". We were both in total agreement on this LOL.
Boost is holding well, the spikes are between shifts which means I prolly just have to adjust the BOV to open under less boost.
I'd like to see what 1.3bar would go like. My AFRs are real rich, I think I might be able to get away with it (I am sick in the head I know).
Anyway, thanks again for the congrats. I'm not running with you big dawgs yet, but getting closer all the time.
Guess I know what I'm doing over the winter... mmmmmm new turbooooos [drool drool]

My car was a AWD IA Stage 2 (stock headers), and my 60' was 1.89.
If you hit a 1.7, you should be right there. I'll be crossing my fingers for you, bro.

John, Marty, Joe, Powell, Buddy, Blonde - THANKS!
Marty - I'm running PZeros at 23psi all around.
Buddy - That's what I'm talking about! Actually think that 18g hybrids will be enough, but we'll see over the winter. I am partial to watercooled turbos...
MrBlonde - Yeah, I'm trying. bro To be honest, it's going to be impossible for me to hit a 1.7 60' on the tracks out here. Yesterday was my best shot as they were getting the track ready for the FIA European Drag Racing Championships. Otherwise they're ****. Maybe a 1.8...
Sounds like I have headers and IC's to go and maybe a few other little things. I think I can get it on power alone - we'll see. Thanks for all the support!
