Here is an article on tire rack BFG R1 vs Hoosier R6 and obviously the MPSC is the other choice.

Anyone used all of these brands? Which one do you like the best? I have experience with the MPSC on my 996 tt and have used BFG and Hoosiers on my 993 tt, but not the 996.

Buddy G,
I can only tell you that I liked my Hoosier R6's very well and they last alot
better than the previous model. To me they seemed like they were easy to drive
and maybe scrubbed off a little too much corner speed (that is what my Cup Car buddies told me they felt like on my car). I wonder if the MPSC's are better than the Hoosiers for an expert driver (like yourself, or Luis Jr's Father who was/is faster than
I am on the Michilen's).
I also would like to hear from somebody who has tried them all.

I have run all. the hoosiers are the fastest and stickiest. however after the cups heat up they are within 1-2 seconds as fast and can run in light rain. also have driven to the track with them.
the RA-1's are the most durable and just under the performance of the cups, so third choice.
your results may vary.
also have run yoko race slicks.........ah, they are the fastest if you are really looking to kick some butt.

Nothing compares to the Hoosiers in grip. They really match up well on the 911's because they eliminate alot of the understeer tendencies. Many people find themselves softening the rear sways when switching from MPSC to R6's
I use the PSCups for rain tires and R6s for dry...and the r6s DEFINITELY hold out WAYYYY better than the PSCups do in the dry...even if the PSCups may have one or two faster laps...
The hoosiers make you feel more planted to the track, the MPSC feel light and twitchy if you have any bumpy areas, gators, or high speed (130+) turns, with hoosiers you can take those turns and not bat an eyelid, but the lightness does fell good on turn in and they are some excellent tires, they just arent hoosiers ( and I was running R3's which are outdated and far below the R6).
-You'll be faster on hoosiers
-You can get much more track time on MPSC's (not all quality though, they will get greasy easier)
- I have heard good things about the R1's, havent tried them yet though.
