Why sway bars?
Why sway bars?
Could someone please explain why you should change the sway bars. I know they are for anti rolling of the car while hard turning but I am installing the Pss9's which will also lower the car which in turn will also decrease the anti roll. Under hard turning I don't notice much body roll but maybe I don't know it could be even better. Sway bars are a inexpensive mod and would do it if I could notice a difference.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
I was told that it is a mod only if you start tracking you car more often. You do not need to upgrade sways when you install PSS9s.
I was going to upgrade also but now am thinking about upgrading separately because I will notice difference of each mod... I have to decide soon as my PSS9s are sitting in my living room.

I upgraded my suspension earlier this year (JIC Cross Coilovers). After the upgrade at the first hard turn I noticed that the stock sway bars were out of balance with the rest of the suspension. I would recommend doing both at the same time especially if the combined install cost would be less.

I would do sway bars first if cash is an issue and pss9 2nd. If cash is not an issue do both at the same time.

I am willing to bet that if you install sway bars, you will definitely notice the difference.
TIA

Changing the anti-roll bars with larger diameter units like those from the GT3 will increase your roll-stiffness and will decrease the degree to which the car exhibits body roll when cornering.
This aids handling because during the a larger surface of the tire (contact patch) is allowed to be in contact with the road surface due. The anti-roll bar can the thought of as reducing side to side weight transfer when cornering.
Cheers!
Installing lager swaybars will not affect alignment as long as there is not preload on the bar at installation. They can be added at a later time as an easy DIY.
I do however suggest you upgrade the bars with the PSS9. I have done suspensions on numerous cars and there is always a noticeable benefit to adding the swaybars.

I was torn before I installed the PSS9s. Tried it for a couple of weeks w/o H&Rs and then with.....a definite noticeable difference with them installed. I recommend doing the swaybars - I am a street only driver and it makes the car even better. There is no alignment with H&Rs just bolt on.
I suggest you do a little searching at www.rennlist.com for more swaybar information to help you make your choice. Essentially there are 3 routes you can go, Porsche M030, Porsche GT3, or H&R. Of course the prices is different on all of them and they all have slight performance differences as well. It also brings up the question of which end links you will need to use (stock, aftermarket, or combination of these). It's all been talked about ad nausea before on the above forum. Have a look there.

Street or track or combo
The difference comes in with dealing with Porsche droplinks. For the better race set up the swaybars with droplinks make since
I wanted a street set up that would be better than stock with occasional track use - very little. So I went with the H&R set up. These bolt into the stock droplinks. I found that the pricing is lower for these and the results were great compared to stock. They are much thicker than the stock swaybars.
Others prefer the GT3 set up with droplinks
And the rich folks prefer even the more exotic set ups.

It is like comparing PSS9s to JRZ or Moton for coilovers. IMO
