I love my rhino ramps that I got at walmart. The ones rated for a higher amount of weight are also wider than the normal ones and accomodate the wide rears nicely. They have a lip at the back so that you cannot run off of them and rubber stoppers on the bottom so they don't slide around. All in all pretty good for 30 something bucks.
Drifter, right now I am running Pennzoil Platinum 5-40. If you look it up, the difference between a 5 and 0 winter weight oil is only significant if you live in an extremely cold climate. If memory serves correctly, a typical 5w oil is good down to something like -20 or 30 F, whereas 0w goes down to -30 or 40 something F.

I've used Castrol Syntec 5w40 since day one and not a single drop of oil and the motor runs flawlessly.

The manual does not say to use 0W40.

Recommended oils include:
Castrol Syntec 5W-50 or 5W-40
Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W-40, 5W-40, 5W-50
Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 0W-40
Havoline Synthetic 5W-40
It's not easy finding these specific oils. I settled for Syntec 5W-50 after I couldn't locate any Mobil 1 in the correct weights.
Should be fine in the SoCal climate.

For all of the times I have seen you comment on oil threads, I checked my manual. It doesn't show 0 W-40 between pages 132-135. Actually, it looks like they recommend 10 W-40.

While this is true, the Porsche recommended oil list has been updated to include 0-40 since your manual was printed.

FYI, most dealers fill with 0W-40. If not a factory fill, its the closest thing to it =). that said, I did some more research and I like the slight added viscosity especially here in LA. Going with Castrol 5W-40.
