EVO SC on ebay - watch out

Here. Watch out for this guy. It was listed before and didn't sell I guess, and was discussed here as well. First, it's a private auction which raises red flags to start. I sent him a message asking if everything was there and he replied yes, and then said he needed a minimum amount for it in British Pounds, even though he's supposed be located in FL. I sent a message back to him asking about that and why it's a private auction and he never replied.

Stay away. Since the auction is private you can't even warn the poor saps who are bidding.

Well, it has the plate with serial # so if you call Evo I am sure you could get some history on it... Still, the payment in British Pounds for an auction in the US is mighty fishy...

Ive seen these used for about $5K-$6K... you also need a reflash for the dme (Im guessing another $1k)... Im starting to think that buying used is not the way to go with this kit... unless you can get it for real cheap and know the history 100%. Group buy, is the way to go!

No feedback since Apr-22-05 is a huge red-flag. I say do it the right way and gtet one with a warranty and from someone who is trusted. I'd say GMP would be a good start. Met Matt for the first time yesterday and was highly impressed with his knowledge of our cars and German cars all around! It's great to have a company like this 10 miles from my house.

I'm a cheap SOB with expensive tastes. Always looking for a bargain, but I think I've decided when it comes to this particular item, they ain't no bargains to be had! If I don't go TT and decide to get and SC, it will probably be new through a group buy.

Deckman, thanks for the warning. I bid on that SC last time it was listed on ebay (March 11th). It was a no reserve auction. I only bid about $3000. I was outbid in the last few seconds..."Sorry, you were outbid. This item sold to onegr8684me for US $4,057.99."

It was listed by a different seller... bigglesfanclub( 38) with the same description and pictures.

I also bidded on this item the last time it was up for sale. I bid up to $3000. I sent him an email asking him questions and the kit. He answered all my questions but I emailed him again asking why he has a UK email address and he didn't respond. I'm going to stay away....

The auction looks like an absolute fraud to me. If one were to alert ebay would they shut it down? I'd hate to see an unsuspecting pcar owner get stung.
