996 C2 tire size

So my 2003 996 C2 takes 285/30-18 in the back and 225/40-18 in the front. I cannot seem to find the ones I want in the correct size for the rear.

Does anyone know, for a fact, that 295/30-18 will work without rubbing or other issues? Note that the car has H&R sprints an is lower than stock.

If you're still running 10" rims, I think the 295's will fit but will be too wide and sort of mushroom-over the rim lip. There's folks running 305 on 11.5 or 12" rims on NB lurking around the forum.
IIRC the stock GT3 wheels are 11" rear and 295.

I think the key to fitment is proper rim width and offset. I have mine pretty low and 285's on stock 10" rims, I can see how I could go much wider with the correct offset rim. You've got about +21mm to the outside to play with.

people have run 295's on 10" with no issues, however manufacturers recommend 10.5" as minimum for 295's. I run 305's on 11" but, this is more of an offset issue for fitting it for the NB.

285 is more popular than 295 I think. You have at least 4-5 N spec tires to choose from in 285. What tire you are looking for?

I wouldn't imagine the car liking that. I could be wrong however, but these cars seem to be pretty fickle when it comes to mismatched tires and different wheels might upset it a bit.
