Looking to have my center console redone in something other than black plastic. Does anyone know of a DIY on how to remove the center console?

Thanks alot

Try this, you will have to read around some information, but the basic info is there.

I replaced my center console. The overall process is not very difficult. There are lots of fastners that need to be reomved. Make sure you get them all. The most difficult part is disengaging the small metal clips. I used the B&M instructions for the 996. becarful not to scratch your brake lever when you are putting it back in place.

I used the B&M instructions too when I installed my short-shifter. It is a very simple process...as mentioned above, just be sure to make sure you unclip ALL the connections before you start yanking on the console to get it out. It should come out very easy. You can download the instructions from the B&M website...just search for the short shifter and download the pdf from the page.

Good Luck!

Be cautious not to break the clip for alarm or your car will always think a door is open and chirp when you lock it. Ask me how I know.
