Too techy 4 u, just wired handheld garage door opener via high beam :)

I have finished the mod of my garage door opener (any handheld opener) via high beam. Install in 10 minutes. (max 20 min)
To close just pull on the high beam.
to open just pull on the high beam.
when i get close to the house, i just pull the high beam and the
door opens (if already closed).
Works if lights are on or off

I've done the same to a few of my cars including the TT. Works great!

amazing diagram and install pic,

mine was a bit different and on a different location (driver side),
but it was a detailed diagram the way you wrote it.

Mine does not have the 1 sec delay, and has good range, from 400 feet, it activates the garage.

Instad of soldering the switch, i put a tie wrap on the botton that pushes the button down, and just soldered the + and -
1 less soldering job.

nice.

I've been thinking about doing something like this. I'm leaning toward the console buttons (targa switch). Any thoughts on how to wire this install to service both a gate and a garage door opener?

two openers on one switch

I just did exactly that on my '04 C4S Cab. I got a runroof switch (I could have also used a Targa roof switch). Just connect the first opener to the two terminals which work (trial and error), then use the adjacent terminal for the second opener and combine the negatives from each opener into one lead. You have to experiment to find out which are the negative leads from the openers--otherwise it won't work. The biggest challenge was making enough room behind the dash (next to stereo and climate control) to squeeze the openers in.

that is one tough install for V1, i would not wire

from under along side to the top.
i opened the panel that has the sunroof switch in there, and i mounted the Valentine 1 adaptor up there and ran wire next to mirror .
