supercharger

has anyone with a supercharged 3.4l changed the size of the pulley to increase boost and power? how how much power can be gained and how riskey is this?

Probably could, the 3.4l engine comes with 11:1 compression ratio which is pretty high to be running a lot of boost. I believe the internals are forged however.

When sharkwerks did mine I seem to remember them saying the pulley from a C4 was a different size and increased boost slightly, but I could be wrong.

simon... are you still SC'ed? Was there a big diff between the 2 pulleys as far as power delivery is concerned?

spoke to vf enginerring yesterday. they said the car would run too lean if i went with a smaller pulley. they also said they have an upgraded software package in the works. should be available in 4-5 months... sounds interesting.

Think it would depend on what kind of boost you plan on running.

With 11:1 Think you'd need tuning and upgraded injectors if you were to try anything higher then 8 PSI or ping.

I do know with 10:1 8 PSI is no problem, but need to upgrade Injectors + tuning to go to 10 PSI with that ratio.
Would need an intercooler if I ever plan on going higher then 10PSI.
