Performance Products

Looking through their recent mailer and on page 30 there is a Cold Air Upgrade. Claims to increase hp/torque/sound for about $225.00 and installs in 20 minutes .
Anyone have experience with this product?

Thanks

Which company did the mailer come from and what cold air product is it? K&N, Fabspeed, etc.

I don't think it really adds the hp that they claim, but it does add a great sound.

Cold Air Upgrade 996 & 997
$224.95 - $225.95
+11.8 Horsepower And Significant Torque
Bolt On Replacement
Increase Airflow By 20%
Power that you can hear and feel "COLD AIR Upgrade/enhancement kit" makes all stock 997 cars with stock mufflers/no modifications sound as if you upgraded your 997 to a mild performance exhaust. Simple direct replacement BOLT-ON upgrade for all 997 stock air boxes. Install under 20 minutes with Torx screwdriver. Not for GT2,GT3 or Turbo models.

Yes, That is just like a fabspeed type system. I had the Fabspeed in my car. Small power gain but deeper sound. Go with a K&N cold air intake system. Google it, Should be no more the $299. Way better product and power gain. Also check out this thread:

Waste of money! Get a real intake or just plug tour existing connecting pipe for similar results. It does sound great though, but nothing compared to the evo intake.

VF engineering- http://www.vf-engineering.com

They have K&N plus a cold air intake. I would look at what they have to offer as well.

Looked at the Vertex web site and essentially the same item by Schnell was $109.00.

Alos noted they have Schnell performance mufflers for $699.00, any experiences with these?
