FVD Muffers

Anyone currently using a set of FVD exhaust? I'm looking at a set and wanted some feedback. They are german made, resemble stock exhaust and described as moderate sound.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks fellow 996 owners

If you want nice moderate sound and save some $ - pick up a set of Agency Power mufflers from Dan at www.vividracing.com . I had a set on my pcar for a while and enjoyed them.

Not familiar with FVD.

I have FVD headers and exhausts on my SC'd 996.
Checkout the IPD Plenum post by RSSGreg from a couple of days ago to hear the sound on the dyno.

I like them because if you get the throttle just right you can get them to "spit"

:-)

So how do you like your FVD exhaust system. I'm leaning toward them but there's so much out there. What's your best advice? Carrera 4S 996

I like the sound of my "FVD sport exhaust", it is a more mature exhaust, not tinny or drone you out inside the cabin type. There was minimal weight savings over stock, but I liked the sound versus the other brands out there. It is certified TUV in europe and when you want to just sit and drive, listen to the radio or have a normal conversation the FVD exhaust allows it. When you punch it, it sounds like a Porsche cup car. It was more expensive than some of the other brands, fabspeed, E-bay stuff, etc, but I liked the fact it was German made and FVD is a big supplier in Europe. That's my 2 cents.

Thanks! BTW . . . is your FVD exhaust the "sport" or "export" sound? I, too, like the FVD brand. You've been very helpful and I see that you've done your research, too.

Mine is the sport exhaust, not the export one. I believe mine is quieter than the export. No interior drone at all.

I wasn't familiar with FVD at all until my shop spoke so highly of them. I have their Intake and Software on my 996 C4S and it runs great. Dont know too much about their exhaust. I have PSE. Sounds AWESOME with the FVD intake and SW.

So glad to hear that you are happy with the muffler!

For those that are interested we have 2 different manufacturer's for our exhausts which can accommodate most budgets. The first manufacture's the OEM exhaust systems for Porsche. They have 2 different sport muffler versions starting at $ 900.00. Here is a video of the Dansk Export Version...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrzHpN9xMEg

The second supplier builds the Cup Car exhausts for Porsche Motorsports which is the one that "Steve's996" purchased. This supplier also has 2 different sound levels which start at $ 1,500.00.

Contact me for further details...

Thanks again Steve!
Rhonda

I've had the Dansk Export for a year now and absolutely love it. I get compliments at PCA events all the time. More importantly I can hear the car when I need to shift. Awesome exhaust.

More than satisfied w/ my FVD Sport Mufflers

Swapped out my good OEM mufflers on my '04 996 40th Edition and couldn't be happier. Keep it below 3K rpm and no noticeable sound but run her through the gears at 5K + and you enter another aural experience. I stopped listening to tunes to enjoy the new found growl..... Perfect fit on OEM swap out, well built, and as mentioned, no lighter than stock.

Contact Rhonda at FVD and she'll treat you right. You will not be disappointed.
