996 Pricing (Happy @ $50)

Having read many recent posts about "what's a 996 worth", I'll suggest that a P car, like most things, is simply worth what somebody's willing to pay for it. I recently purchased a 2002 C 4 Cab with 16,000 miles, triple black and very well optioned. No scratches, dents or swirl marks. During the PPI the Porsche technician said "this car has been pampered and it's clean as a whistle". Being a good friend and customer of the local Porsche Dealer, I was able to get a CPO Warranty at cost and the only thing needing replacement was the rubber.
Grand total including purchase price, CPO Warranty and new P Zeros is $50,800. Was it too much? To little? Who knows. It was average market price for the car compared to other 996's with low miles and a CPO Warranty.
I can tell you that I'm very happy with the car. It's my 3rd Porsche (2006 Cayman S, 2008 Cayenne S). I installed clear side markers and de-badged the Carrera 4 emblem and replaced it with Bassalt black 911 emblem. It'll be summer only and I'll drive it a few more miles per year than the previous owner. It's my first ever convertible and after almost 60 years on this earth I can't believe I waited this long.
I've found this forum to be very helpful and want to say thanks to all for sharing your experiences. Looking forward to being a part of the 996 ownership crowd!

Great attitude and outlook.
You knew what you're after and got it done, nice.

Congratulations, sounds like a fine example of a black 996 (I'll use my imagination on this, ha.)

GO BLUE!

These cars are not investment pieces, so just be happy and enjoy. You'll always find people that say too high, too low in the same post.

Welcome

I have to agree. You are going to love this car! - I have a 99 I bought about 5-6 years ago and drive it during summers only. Every spring, I can't wait to get it out again! The only thing that will ever replace it is another 9xx Cab - whatever that model might be in the future.

In your opinion, how does the 996 compare to the Cayman...and did you sell that car?

This is exactly the car that I described as 'perfect' or 'mint' in my post about 996s.

You paid for low mileage, one owner, dealer serviced, CPO and a practically unused vehicle. These cars are worth it to the right buyer who's looking for peace of mind.

Congrats.
