Where can I get 18 pin amp connector

So I went to a stereo installer here in Dublin and he said I would need to get the part from a Porsche dealer, I went to the Porsche dealer and said Id be better off getting it from a stereo store.

To me it looks like a pretty standard connector. Does anyone know where I can get the 18 pin connector that plugs into m490 and m680 amps?

I upgraded mine and spliced into the existing wires. the factory connector is still there in case the new owner will like to revert back.

Well that really doesnt help.

Im going from a M680 (DPS) to the M490 from the HPAS system. Unfortunately the clip is cracked on one side and without this being snug it does not function properly.

I've got the clip/harness/wiring for the M490 amp... I plan to sell it with the amp, but if you have an offer that is worthwhile, PM me...

Sure thing, no problem Joel... Yeah, hopefully they can rig something up for you... If you need a close up picture of the connector or anything, let me know and I can snap one for you. It has some numbers, which I presume to be part numbers of some sort (4 sets of numbers) on the connector... If you need those, let me know.

Good luck!

Thx.

I actually have the clip I just broke the right sight of that little "securing lever". I realized that even when plugged in if that is not completely secure the amp does not work.

I will probably look up those number and contact another Porsche dealer. I have a feeling the guy at the last dealership was just being lazy. I mean I sat at the counter for about 3 mins before he got up from his sandwich to help me.

Oh okay gotcha... Or, if it is just the locking guide lever that is broken, you can actually remove the lever, and push the plug all the way down, and it will work fine (assuming the clip itself is okay). The lever itself, locks down on a pronged gear type of thing, that guides the plug down. You can remove the lever altogether, and it will allow the plug to go down.

hmm...well that hasnt been the case for me. Unless I stick my thumb and hold down the plug firm it does not make a proper connection. Maybe it is a single wire that is not in the plug well enough.
