Picked up my 997- pics inside!
Sorry fellow 996 brethren, I have given in to temptation and purchased an 06 997 cab. I am really having a ton of fun with it so far and mods are underway, it is NICE to have the 6speed- I don't miss the tip
1-owner, all records, 14k miles, pampered car, all options except Sport Chrono and multi-function wheel. Serviced by Circle Porsche in Long Beach and just had the first service performed right before I bought it, 2-year brake fluid change and with a new set of PS2 rubber out back!
Yes, I was looking for an S coupe.. Found a few nice ones (Josh's white 05 comes to mind- nice ride!), but had always wanted to try out a cab. This fell my way and was an unbelievable deal that I just could not pass up- Seriously, think KBB low trade-in value for a pcar with 30k miles and in poor shape..LOL. Seller needed to move it quickly and I was happy to oblige (really nice guy, too-). Driving impression has been very good- it really does not "feel" like a cab in regards to cornering and lack of rigidity of the chassis. 997 cabs are definitely an improvement over 996 cabs in this respect.
So anyway, mods commencing- so far have changed the rear badge to "911" custom painted in platinum silver, added HR spacers (15mm R / 7mm F), S tips, NavTV ipod interface, 35% 3M ceramic tint, K/N intake, Porsche factory clear side markers.
Coming next: SSK, Bilsteins (courtesy of Blakt Out), silver hood crest, ECU flash, SmartTop, paint center console and of course the AfterHours Sport Mufflers!
-And I finally got away from the tip and into a 6speed- So much better!!!
Here's some (large) pics- enjoy-
I am digging on this Midnight Metallic color- it is stunning blue in the sunlight, midnight blue in the shade and looks black at night, the color shift is sensational!

Wow, did not take you long to get your fix
As you know I thought your last p-car was very clean/tastefully done (not into the tip either though).
This 997 just simply slaps it down
It's just beautiful and I'm sure it will only get better from here
Well done...enjoy your reward

Thanks everyone- I didn't expect to find the right 997 so soon- took me 3 or 4 months to find my 996. Just got lucky I guess!
Hey Sherm- yeah man, I bought new sunscreen for me AND the car.. LOL. My new carcare stuff for the leather, interior and top has UV blocker in it. I'm such an OC car owner...
I really miss my AH exhaust, still waiting for mine to be made. You know you took mine right?? You owe me one brother..
Redridge- Drop is coming next week when the Bilsteins go on, can't wait.
