i don't know if price-wise an audi part is any cheaper (or, less expensive!) than a porsche part. but i want to know of any audi parts that are interchangeable with my 996. more sources = cheaper parts.

so anybody know of other parts that are interchangeable?
lets make a list!

I like the color of the LEDS in the audi part. what i am worried about is all the diagnostic tests are AC systems are used for. WOuld it all be interchangeable?

I don't think it works on the 03's.

As long as the audi is the same firmware version, the diagnostics should work.

they aren't identical parts... Audi has been using that AC unit since the early 90's, and Porsche put it in basically every 996 or 986 based car... but the units are actually two pieces... face plate and the CU itself... I would say at some point the Audi CU match that of a Pcar CU, but I do know that when porsche moved from 7.2 software to CAN BUS 7.8 that the Control units were changed...

Also only other part I know of is the Ignition switch like JP said... Im sure other stuff is the same as well, but they WONT have the same part number...
