Clutch

I need a clutch at 38000 miles (ridiculous). Does anyone make an assembly that is more long lasting than that? Also, should I plan on doing the RMS even if there are no oil leaks? Thanks for the imput.

no need to fix the RMS if it's dry.

assuming you were the primary driver of the car in the 38k miles... perhaps you need to look in zee mirror?

original clutch on my car lasted 83K miles. and I replaced just because I was doing the RMS. If RMS is dry... DON'T TOUCH IT!

I have the SPEC stage 2 and billet flywheel...VERY happy with it. The trigger on the flywheel is even billet. A friend has 79K and counting on the same clutch in his supercharged car, so I thought it would be great on my bolt on n/a ..

Make sure that you replace the release lever when you replace the clutch. The old design can cause premature disc wear because it does not fully release under heavy loads.

my996,

I bought the clutch from Vivid and the flywheel from an individual who traded his car on a turbo before he had a chance to install it. He bought it directly form SPEC. www.specclutch.com is their site. I decided to buy the SPEC b/c I know someone that's had good luck with it and also b/c I was at the Daytona Koni Challenge race and the winning BGB car was using their clutch. A new pilot came with the flywheel..that's the only other component I changed (along w/the TOB) on my 58K mile car. The fork and rear seal looked good.
