Auto-side mirror down when in Reverse?

On a 996, is there any way to make the passenger side mirror automatically go down when the the tranny is in reverse? Love that feature on my M3, helped me avoid curb rash at least a few times.

There is, but as I recall it involves some sort of magical synchronizing of the memory buttons next to your seat if you have them. It would require you to open your owners manual. I do that when I first get a car and seldom after that.

Uhhh, scratch that. Problem solved in Post #2

I don't know what happened to my manual. How exactly do you set the seats? And if you put the car in reverse the mirror direction will auto adjust?

evan911 - that's right. when you are setting the memory, shift into R and set the mirrors for the regular driving position, not the reverse mirror position. after the memory is set and you shift into R, the right mirror will self tilt a few degrees to see the curb.

QUESTION - what if I want the mirror to tilt more than the default?

Raise your seat higher. That or scrunch your butt cheeks together and straighten your spine
