painting hollow spoke turbo twist

I've decided to take on a small winter project. Picked up a decent set of hollow spoke twists for my c4s, and am planning to sand, prime, paint for track wheels.
I'm thinking gunmetal color to match with midnight blue car color. Any good advice before I undergo the project. Also, what wheel paint brand would be the best choice. And if anyone has pix of midnight blue car with darker wheels, i would appreciate it. Happy safe holidays.

Ben is right, powdercoating can be found for nearly as cheap as painting them will be, is much more durable and the better option, however if you don't mind the chips and looking beat up fairly quick since they are just track wheels then paint away!

Either way just make sure you clean and prep the hell out of them, good luck.

They'll be track wheels, so I anticipate them getting fubar soon enough. I would like help deciding to go black or gunmetal, and pix would definitely help.

Sweet, with the outer lip in silver. Gloss black paint or matte?

Painted mine over a year ago and still have no chips and very happy with them. Reason I painted is that I heard the powder coating heats up the wheel too much compromising integrity. My .02.

i have a set of painted wheels and a set of powder coat wheels. i don't notice a difference in wear even though everybody says paint wheels will chip.

Never thought I would see this day, but I agree with Mr. Choi about black being a little off with the blue car. There I said it.I am leaning with 3 to 4 shades of gray darker than stock silver finish. Anyone got this setup? Or photoshop please for those graphically talented.

Having a black center with polished lips is a classic Porsche look on any color.
