996 Rear Diffuser??

I am considering installing a rear diffuser; if there are any functional ones out there. Has anyone considered this? What do you all think? Worth doing or not?

Good question, I know that Hamann & FVD both offer them.

Yeah but is your diffuser functional or merely cosmetic?

That would be sweet in carbon... don't think it will fit my Aero bumper with the side blades on it...

And I don't know if I like the idea of putting sheet metal down there to make it functional considering the rust issues. I'll keep looking or hoping someone will make it functional with the same type of panels as OEM. hint hint.

Gt3tek, I went on your site to see how much this diffuser is for a c4s but you don't list one for the widebody. Do you guys not make it? I wish you would make this and the 997.2 gt3 rs spoiler for the c4s. Those are two items you could count on me buying.

None of these rear diffusers are functional. The 996 sits too high for the diffuser to work. If you lower the car to the point that the diffuser becomes functional, then it would be very difficult or impossible to drive on the street.

I'm not looking for function rather than look. I love the look of a rear diffuser.

At least you're honest. I think it's safe to say that most of the diffusers you see that either come from the manufacturer or on a street car are for looks.

Some however might argue that at 145.75mph, that rear diffuser sucks the car down with 3.57lbs of force. lol

Lol well if I was tracking my car it would be a different story but for highway driving it won't do the car any real true justice anyways. At least nothing worth spending 4 or 5 grand on lol
