Just broke 75K on my 02....only putting 3k a year on it, use M1 15-50, and take it to redline all the time...truly a great machine

I've got an 02 C2. I'm third owner and have had it the last 18 months. It is over 130k miles and has been autocrossed almost every weekend in spring-fall since I got it. It is on the original motor. No oil usage and still pulls strong. It had a leak down test around 112k miles and looked in good shape for the mileage.

Have a 02-C2 101000 original motor, 2nd owner, I "dog" it.
Had 70K on it when I bought it, put 30K on it in 1 yr, strong as ever.
No issues, yeah need new shocks and struts(wear and tear) and change oil every 5K Valvoline Syn 5-40, and use spin on Metal filter.
GREAT car, the best and most fun car I have ever owned(48 previous new dif brands).Go Porsche!

I've heard of 250-300k porsches, always either Air cooled or 996 Turbo. I have one customer with a 996 Carrera with over 130, can't comment on original motor or not. 99's had good motors, years that followed did not for sure, so you're in a special club for sure. Keep on going.

Didn't excellence just do a Carrera 2.7 with high millage? maybe it was more like a while ago.
I know your post is super old, but how can you say that the motors following the '99s were worse? Watch my '03 blow up tomorrow but I thought the '99s were tricky because they were the first water-cooled release...

I've got 100,500 miles on my 2002 C4S. It's the original engine, and it's still running strong!

I have a 2000 C2 with 115K and it is great!! - engine runs perfectly. I just had some regular maintenance work done - oil change, plugs, filters - and the mechanics said it is in great shape. Stay current with the maintenance - use the right products - and this engine and its performance I believe will last a LONG time.

I was wondering if there are any people on 6speed that have put high miles on their original motors or know of any one that has.

Thx
