What tires are you using? My guess is your Porsche tech is right.Does the sound change with the road surface and tire temperature? If so he's probably right if not then get a second opinion.

HAVE CONTINENTAL SPORT CONTACT 2,the rears are 75% worn, the fronts dont have alot of wear but the car did sit alot with the previous owner, and yes the sound does change with road surface,im hoping its tires, getting new ones next week,im going to try the Sumitomo's,i heard alot of good things on them, and i dont track the car

Bridgestone 050 Pole Positions. cat issue would be a rattle-like sound and noticable lack of power on acceleration. hard to describe tire noise...changes with every road surface. good luck.

Cool

Those low profile Conti's tend to flat spot if the car sits in one place for very long.

Hope new tires fixes it.

Brando, I bet 4 of your RH turbo rims would solve the problem.

These cars aren't that rare... Maybe you could find a fellow Porsche owner in the area that would be willing to let you test drive your car with his/her wheels and vice versa. It would answer that question pretty quick. I would guess it's possible that you could have a bent rim and that wouldn't be fixed by changing just the tires.
