Considering how soft the market is right now, when might it be a good time to considering selling? Thanks. Or will the 996 market just plummet further down on the resale value..

go up? I am just hoping it hits a flat line soon. The RS models are even seeing hard times in europe where the porsche market is generally strong for resale value.

Yeah I can't ever envision a time when these will go up. Like Kwerks said, I would happy with some sort of stabilization.

The prices are still falling pretty steadily, until there is a drastic change in the US economy I don't see anything but more downward swings..

So, uhhhh... yeah... ummm... So are you selling?

'Cause I've been looking to pick up a 996. And according to this thread, it might be a good time.

Just by doing local searches I'v been able to find a GT2 for 60, GTR for 65, and a C2 for 17500....What happend to the retail prices? Look no further than Benz...CL63's came in at 140 msrp and now 95? Its been a year? Heck even the mighty Ferrari took a nose dive right after Gallardos hit the 78k used region....terrible times for resale value...unless you own a GT, F1, or anything else that had a run under 500 lol those prices seem to be growing everyday.

When pigs fly.........

Numbers will continue to drop and will never return. Look at the Mercs or BMW for example. those boys are losing their shorts.

Here is an offline thought - if Geitner succeeds in asking for the nation's debt limit to be raised over $12 trillion, this could start massive inflation, and that could make the dollar worth less, and then the value of your car (at least the amount in $) may actually increase.

So it's possible, that's all I'm sayin'.

I'll star in "Hung" because I expect my P length to increase before the price of our P car's go up.

Value go up?Who cares?I have a Porsche because I like fine and fast automobiles. Not because I invest for profit in them.I don't look at cars as a commodity. But I do love fine machinery.

I'm not sure anyone knows when the car market will stabilize and or come back. All the models have taken hits and our 996's deeply too. Me, I like it . I drive it and I'm keeping it
