Question Third Radiator Kit for 996?

Anyone installed one of these? Do you ACTUALLY see a 15+ degree difference in engine temp?

Been runnin' awfully hot at the track nowadays (95 degrees +). Would love to show my car a little love.

Does anyone have the Porsche factory part #? Approximate price?

Thanks in advance!

Brad

3rd Radiator kit

I live in So. Fla. and believe me it does lower temp. 15-20 degrees on track. You can buy the complete Porsche Factory kit (Porsche retail $ 616.00) from Bobby at Foreign Affairs a Board Sponsor for $ 462.00

3rd radiator

Here is a link to my results and installation instructions. It will not lower your "normal" operating temp... it is not intended to. It will lower your track and high speed running temps 10 to 20 degrees F. I (and several others) got ours from board sponsor Carnewal.com.

It really worked for me.

I live in Texas and was never able to finish a run session in the summer because my car would heat up to the 250 degree mark.

I installed the radiator and have never had the needle pass the '0' or the '180' mark on the temp guage.

I did this upgrade because a track friend of mine had the same issues and they were completely resolved with this kit.

I installed mine myself using Loren's instructions and a 12 pack of beer. Went like a charm (I think )

Kit Cost

I bought mine from Gert at Carnwell (sp?) and I believe it was $485.00 EURO. At the time that was about $510.00. Past that all you need is a few hose clamps and some anit-freeze. Loren details the part numbers in his instructions.

You need at least 2 people for a portion of the upgrade to help in holding bumpers, etc. It took myself and a freind 6 hours from the time we walked into the garage to the time we walked out after cleaning up and testing the car. If I had to do it again I know I could shave off at least 2 hours because some of the time I was just trying to figure details out.

Lowered price but more shipping

That's a good price but I think that F. A. 's shipping will be much cheaper and maybe faster as they are in the U.S.
