Suggestions for Wheels, deep lip / HRE vs. iForged
My buddy still can not get registered;
He has an ’02 C4 (narrow body) yellow cab with an aero kit and wants to put on 19†deep lip wheels. Any suggestions. Please attach photos if possible. Any comments on HRE vs. iForged

In my opinion, any of the HRE 540R series wheels looks great on a C2 - except the 544R.
For instance, the classic 545R:
or the 540R:
I have the 547's, and love them, but I'm not sure about that style on a P-car:
As you can see, I partial to HRE over iF - I think they are just better looking hands down.

I was in shock so bad from your post I almost couldn't even type on my keyboard...

What happend to your standard "Go with BBS" HRE's are nothing but bling and have no racing heritage... They don't belong on a 911... Etc...

HRE's
If you're considering the HRE 540 or the similar iforged, then you may want to check out Cargraphic. Great wheels. Now with new and improved valve stem extensions for checking and filling

that's a comformist for you, just going with the majority. as you no nothing about what you speak of. both manufacturers use the same lips, bolts and aluminum. both are forged and have extremely high tolerances infact i believe i-forged has a slightly higher tolerance and have less records of cracked centers in ratio to wheels sold. but then again who knows, just didn't want you to have the wrong information.

i personally know 3 cases of the 547's cracking at spoke near the assembly bolts opposed to the i-forges similar style wheel, with no cases of cracking. i'm not trying to bad mouth HRE's as i have the 540's on the p-car and 22" iforged on the x-5. i have had four different sets of HRE's with painted centers that were so easy to chip i could almost chip it with my finger nails, and chromed lips that leaked air cause the chrome flaked and i paid a rediculous amount for the chromed lips. i also believe i-forged is the only company that uses a powder coating method that looks like anodizing obviously making it much more durable than anodizing. on the balancing machine the i forged had much closer balancing on all four wheels needing less counter weights. i have seen a few i-forged wheels balanced and they all needed minimal balancing compared to the HRE's. as we all know these are not performance wheels like the kinesis, sportec, or BBS. in my opinion all reputable cnc forged wheels are the same quality as long as they have been load tested, it's just a matter of what style you like. i am not trying to promote the i-forged wheels but rather just relay my experiences. marketing is key to consumer demand, don't get conned.....
