I bought one on eBay yesterday, $60.95 including shipping. Comes with snorkel, but I don't think the hose is included, We will see when it gets here.
There are a couple more on eBay but most are listed for $200+

My PET only goes through the 996 series. Does anyone have one that goes through the 997.1. I am looking for the part number for the hose that goes from the air box to the throttle body.

Found three part numbers
997.110.221.00, with note M97.01
997.110.223.00 with note M96.05
997.110.225.00. with note M97.01 X51

All available for about $36.28. Anyone know what the difference is? the last with the X51 seems obvious, but maybe this is the 3.8S version. Not sure about the M97.01 and M96.05

The part # for the 997 Bosch OEM MAF (986-606-125-01-M14) is listed under the 996 MAF parts as well (Pelican Parts) - so I'm guessing you're good with your existing MAF.

I ran across a used EVO CAI with 997 stamped on the bottom. I couldn't get it to fit either so I bought the K&N. Now I have a perfectly good EVO collecting dust Anyone want it for 1/2 off retail? Just need throttle body boot.

Folks, seems as though the "regular" 997 airbox fits perfectly.
The mistake I made was going with a 3.8 airbox.
There are some VERY subtle differences but seems as though it does make a bit of a difference.
The main issue is the bolt securing the airbox to the sheet metal does not fit perfectly. It's about 1/4" off and the top cover blocks access to the bolt head. I'm thinking of leaving the bolt off. Any comments on doing this? I'm guessing it should be okay since it's sitting in the two rubber grommets and also held secure but the intake boot, not to mention the oil fill tube.
One small issue was the "ribbing" on the left side of the airbox that comes closest to the hood latch. Had to cut away a little bit of the plastic.
I'm kinda bummed about this since I wasn't lucky enough to get mine for $60!
Hope this helps folks in the future to go with the 3.6 box.

I just installed the 3.8 with no problem. There is little diff between the 3.6 and 3.8 airbox. I have installed the 997 box on a 2000/2002 996s. The only adjustment need was to rotate the air pump 10deg using existing holes. I would believe the above install used the second set of air box holes to mount box. This would be why the bolt does not line up.
