997 airbox in 996?

hi did anybody here have in 996 the 997 airbox?
It is straight bolt on?

Yes it has been done

The guy that comes to mind is joelpirela, forgive me if it is spelled wrong. I will try to do a search. Look for the tread that states which intake for a 996, he has pictures. The stock 996 box is plain ugly.

gu9cci - It is pretty much a direct fit. Lots of folks have done it.

The weather is getting nice out, we are going to have to set up a local get together soon!

Dharn55 yea it's getting warm.I agree we have to get some car meet.

regarding the airbox i just pm to joel and he respond that i need some air pump relocating kit to fit the airbox.

the EVOMs CAI kit for the 996 contains the bracket to move the air pump
over when fitting their CAI to 996. You may be able to purchase it from them. It's the middle item in this pic of their CAI.
Though i've not installed 997 airbox, i believe this part will do the trick as the EVOM kit for the 997 doesn't include this
bracket, where it does for the 996. hope this helps.

correct, contact Evolution Motorsports and ask for bracket that moves the air pump.

and I got the 997 airbox at suncoast for $49. it uses either 996 or 997 airfilters...

thanks perilla....looks good.You got good deal on that airbox.They are hard to find but that look they give your engine compartment is stuning.
I have mine from 3.8 engine with electronic resonator block.I did buy as well fabspeed cold air kit even for better look.
