Bose Sound system
Bose Sound system
I have the Bose sound system, the head unit is the one that takes one CD through the front.
The problem is that some times it doesnt produce any sound on any source (CD, FM,AM) and i cant get it back unless i leave it off for about 30-45 mins. Ive taken the key out and put it back in, turned it on and off.... this maybe happens once a month. Then maybe about 3 times a month for some reason the sound will get seem like it gets lowered...
Any Ideas about what is going on?

I have had this happen to be a Few Times... You just need to Turn teh Car Off Lock it and wait a Min or 2, then start her back up... i think the AMP Just needs to be Resetted... Seems like a Common Problem as others on here have had teh same issue
I've found that it happens a lot less if I will manually turn off the stereo before turning off the car. Then turning it on manually after the car is started.
It wouldn't be the first piece of electronic equipment that got confused from noise and power fluctuations when a vehicle was stopped & started.

How do i check that?
Look for the wiring harness on your amp. More than likely one of the wires - probably green - will be connected to the chassis at a ground mount point (a bolt hole with no paint). You will probably have to remove some of the internal panels to get clear access.
I had *huge* electrical issues on my Audi after having an after market stereo installation - after ripping everything apart, finally tracked it down to a poor ground connection. It was frustrating becomes *sometimes* it would work - always while I was troubleshooting in my garage ;-)
If the bolt loosens or the connection becomes corroded, you can have problems. Temperature fluctuations and vibration can affect as well.

the volume changing is normal its reacting to the ambient noise levels.it does this automatically, more noise higher volume ,less noise lower volume.not sure if you can disable that feature but you may be able to,also there are some quirks with this head unit no doubt about it like every so often all the tone controls go back to zero or like you sed it just will stop working or recognizing a disc etc,it all comes back eventually and to me it really sounds pretty good over all so im leaving this system in for now.that is all, good luck!
