LED Tail lights
#61
Yup, but they were on quite a good sale! I think they supposedly retailed for 400 something?

I grabbed these when they were $229. Arrived in perfect condition and with a lot of packing material in the box. Took about 10 mins a side to install. Love the look. (these are the smoked with the LEDs on)

It used to be on Amazon but now they are ~$300. I suspect the 229 might've been a pricing error on someone's part since I've never seen ANY vendors sell it for this low. $229 is probably cost for them.

These threads are so confusing to a new reader! First off we need to understand 1999-2001 has different responce to the LED tail lights then the 2002-2004...So from what i have gathered my 2002 will work fine AS LONG as i get the RESISTORS! i hope this is all that needs to be done!

i think it really boils down to potentially needing two things. You MAY need resistors for the brake lights and you MAY need a new LED flasher for the turn signals. In my case i needed both.
i also had a bunch of problems with the lights themselves - but that had nothing to do with the car piece. they were manufacture defects.

one thing to be careful with is when you try to insert/remove the bulb -- the porsche connector is very fragile. I ended up breaking off the little metal connectors that are supposed to make contact with the bulb. From the dealer its a 180 part... so i just cut the wires and soldered them directly to the new light.
the parts i ordered from spectrumled where
Flasher
Item # CF13GL-02
and
Load Equalizer
Item # 6 ohm

Note the negative responses from 2 Amazon.com customers for the LED talilight quality, or lack of, on the inexpensive taillights. Buyer beware when the price gets too far below the competition.....($297 item listed 11/21/10)
