Barn Find... sort of!

I've been on the forum about a year. Thought I would post a couple of pics and share the story from when I bought the car. I went to a large lot which handles reposession and consignement of all sorts of things. I actually went looking for a utility trailer. While walking through the yard I spotted what I thought was a Porsche inside one of their metal buildings. It was a Carrera 4S, unbelievable. 2002 with 25,000 miles superb condition. I wrote down the VIN and wrote the name of the dealer that was on the license surround which appeared to be new. Initial search showed up nothing. Did a cached search on google and the car shows up. I call the dealer. He said he had tried to broker the car but could not sell it in time therefore the bank took it to new outfit for it to be auctioned. He said it was a nice car. Long story short I won the bidding. It was nice talking to the dealer. All of the questions I asked at the repo lot were met with, we don't know anything, good luck to you. The car was surrounded by tractor wheels, commercial kitchen duct work, spools of electrical wire. It was a sight to behold. To the member of the board thanks for the info and entertainment. The pics were from the repo lot w/my boy and his new shiner!

Nice. I like your mods as well - especially the IMS bearing upgrade. Very important to factor this in on find like this.

Well done!

Very interesting, but did you end up finding that utility trailer? It really seems like you and that C4S were meant to be Love the look of the shiny Porsche parked in between all the randomness..Enjoy

I did get a utility trailer that I found on Craigs List. The Carrera 4s has always been a dream car for me. I love the shape. I hoped that one day I could get a Carrera 4. I always figured the S was out of reach. I needed the all wheel drive element due to winter weather. The car was so clean I almost felt guilty about making it a daily driver. I'm way over it now! I remember being amazed seeing it surrounded by what appeared to be just cast off junk. The car in front of it was an old 70's Camaro that was so maxed out it could barely idle. It looked like it belonged on PINKS. It was picked up the same time I picked up the Porsche after the auction. Polar opposite cars. The guy who picked up the Camaro looked as happy as me, which was nice to see.

Very nice score. I would've tapped into my kid's college fund at that price.
