Not sure if anyone else has had fueling problems.... but I know in my 02 C4S the new pumps in CA keep shutting down..... I saw a thread that said if you invert the pump handle 180 degrees (perhaps 90) this doesn't happen... and it is true... never had fuel spill using this method.... and to be honest.... are my comments even relevant? Haha....

tarzancoe is infamous around these parts
I do the inverted pump as well. Otherwise it does not top up.

I've never put a drop on the paint (without using one of those), but I do hold the nozzle at 10 o'clock to fuel and stop fueling when the pump strops the first time. I wait about 5 seconds and slowly withdraw the nozzle until it is clear holding over the fuel opening - wait for one more drop - and put the nozzle back. No mess every time.
