I would guess somewhere in the upper 80s to low 90s depending on other options.

thank you, I am trying to get a new catalytic converter (or two)... i was quoted a fairly high price for the stock part, is this worth doing or should i put in aftermarket?

Look at 2004 40th Anniversary Editions as they all had x51 standard and I think MSRP was about $96k new.

That car is beautiful. 2004 was a huge year for Porsche. It is very hard to find these cars' value... So much so that the dealer that sold me my car had no clue what x51 even was!

^^ I've always liked the 40 Anniversary Edition Carrera. If you were to order a regular Carrera with the options which were standard (and some were not available on the regular Carrera anyways IIRC) that car's price would be substantially higher than getting the Anniversary Edition to begin with. It was a bargain in Porsche terms and kept you, power wise, ahead of a 997 Carrera and just below a 997 Carrera S up until the 2009 DFI engines. Very nice car! Non-Anniversary 996s with X51 are rare too.

To find the price for which a 996 with X51 sold new, I would add about $15900 to the base price of the 996 and then, as someone else pointed out, add the options' cost to it.

^ It's the factory Powerkit option which brings the 996s hp to 345 hp IIRC. I don't remember the torque figure, though.
