996 gets warmed up to operating temp and when I engage clutch on deceleration the rpms drop to zero, engine stalls and dies... restart... pull up to the next traffic light, step on the clutch... rpms drop to zero, engine stalls and dies... restart...

Replaced crank positioning sensor $300, she's still stalling when warmed-up and when pressing clutch.

Anybody?

No body has a clue?

Thank a million... really! I would like to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible and any help or solutions would be deeply appreciated.

I have put it away in my garage until I can get some idea of what is wrong.

here is an answer i received

The MAF is a favourite for fuelling issues, but my first thought for some reason was whether the oil cap was fitting properly.

What model and year is it?

"Non-eGas check ICV (Idle Control Valve) and clean the with carb cleaner.

eGas check TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and clean the throttle body with carb cleaner."

MAF or a dirty air filter.

Its a 1991 C4. The consensus appears to be the MAF, Throttle Positioning Sensor. I will look into those today and kick back the results.

BTW, the oil cap is snug fit and I changed the air filter about two months ago.

Thanks
