No sorry I don't think the 997 headers will fit any 996 without some modification, but I could be wrong.

Also if you do change from stock, you'll want to do both sides at the same time. Do not replace just one side unless you are doing it with the exact same stock part.

Some people swear by ebay headers, and others prefer to spend more money for something like a fabspeed. I love the extra sound my fabspeed headers provide.

Of course, you can always pick up a single used stock header from a dismantler for less money, such as dcauto.com

The 997 headers will fit. No problem. Change both sides if you are changing them. You will notice a little different engine sound (pitch) at higher RPMs, which is ok and you may notice a very very slight loss in low-end torque. And I mean slight, as you may not even notice it. My friend did on his car but he is very sensitive. I did not notice it...

uhhhmm..the price for 997 header is almost close to performance brands like B&B which i think they give about 10-15 more HP.. hopefully i will get something since i dont like the way my 911 is...

the header has a flat surface mounts to the engine with 6 bolts and the surface is a bit bent ...ugly sound...

Sorry But.. you will not get 10-15 HP from aftermarket headers. If that is your goal then save your money for some nice 200 cell Cargraphic or AWE Cats.

If the header is just a little warped, you could also just have a machine shop put a new surface on it. That way it will be flat and bolt right back up. Be sure to replace the bolts.

Changing only one header will make each head perform differently. Not recommended. Pushing air out of the combustion chamber will change for the head with the new header. Meaning the head with the stock header on it will be a bit slower in expelling the used gases. You want the engine to perform equal on both sides. This would be something I would only do on a old mustang or something. I have Fabspeed and love them. My exhaust tone is much different than most 996's. The cheapest thing to do is to take it to a machine shop and have them resurface it. Maybe $100 at the most. Maybe an hour of work. And yes new bolts are a must or else you'll be hating yourself later when a stud gets stuck or breaks off. Good luck.

Thanks, there is a used Header found the guy is asking $150 for it..now its a good idea to machine it and make it flat(is it 100% going to be flat with no leak??) or just replace the bent one with the used one...

I guess I don't understand why you can't use your old header and re-surface it. Things tend to bend under pressure and temp. Whats up with your header and why can't you reuse it?

im worried about flatting this since the bent is on the side not in the middle

There's an interesting video on the FabSpeed website that shows a 997 header vs. a 996 header. It looks like the 996 header is actually better...

That is a true statement on the 996 especially at the low-end power curve.
