Vr996ct

Team at Vivid Racing will be fixing some internal issues with my engine, then I will be ready to hit the road again. Had been hoping to do a body kit by now but will have to wait till way next year. When Vivid Racing finishes up my engine, I'm looking to enjoy some long scenic drives in Arizona.

The Team at Vivid Racing has been great (Dan, Rob, Heath). My engine had over 100,000 miles and I am running a 62mm Turbo and 5.5psi of boost. Just time to be reworked, they tore down my engine and doing a rebuild, my pistons and rods where in great shape, they found a hair line crack in my head which is being addressed and then doing new piston rings, seals, gaskets, AOS, water pump...ect. Then re-tuning my car. With the VR996CT Kit and rebuild engine I should easily dyno 375hp to the wheels on low boost.

Anyone interested in Turbocharging their 996/997 should definitely contact Dan at Vivid Racing and inquire about it.

Engine fully rebuilt and back together, will be installed, tuned and dyno'ed in a few days. Along with the Engine and Heads being fully rebuilt I did:

1) APR Engine and Head Stud Kit
2) New Cylinder Head
3) LN Engineering 160 Degree Thermostat
4) GT3 3rd Radiator Kit
5) AASCO Light Weight Flywheel
6) Repainted Car (Factory Arctic Silver)

Just added a center Pod to the steering wheel trim with AEM Digital Oil Pressure Gauge and AEM Air/Fuel/Boost Failsafe Gauge.

The AEM Failsafe ties into my Turbosmart eBoost and im adding a laptop under my seat with my Durametrics and AEM Safesafe USB Options running from the hidden laptop to my Kenwood Head Unit on AUX Video.

Interesting... How come you're duplicating the oil pressure gauge? Is the factory one not good enough?

I'm going to be doing a lot of data logging and record keeping, so I need exact oil pressure readings along with boost and air/fuel readings.

Thank you for the compliment! Ive been reading your treads and pretty impressed with your interior and body kit.

Vivid Racing sells the Steering Wheel Pods @ $50 for a Dual Pod.

Softronic did the tuning. Its all part of the Vivid Racing VR996CT Package. Tuning is included in the Turbo Kit. Lots of nice parts, 62mm Precision Turbo, Turbosmart Wastegate and Boost Controller, Inter-Cooler, Larger Injectors, really a huge ton of parts. You can Google "Vivid Racing VR996CT", "Vivid Racing Carrera Turbo" or go to www.vividracing.com and learn more.

Everything single possible thing on my car has been upgraded or improved.

Only a few things left that I could even possibly think about such as Brembo Big Brake Kit and upgrading some individual suspension components such as Tie Rods and such. I already have the M030 Suspension Kit.

More updates and dyno chart to come. I will also get some real-time numbers because honestly dyno's are meaningless. Its just a number! A cars real performance is measured in 0-60, 60-120 and 1/4 mile, those numbers dont lie.

Very true! Sorry i forgot that one. Dyno numbers are nice to look at but I want to see what my creation will do in the real world!

I have a G-Tech Pro SS mounted to my windshield and will also bring her the drag strip and post photos and numbers of everything.

Really enjoyed this thread...thanks for sharing....Makes me realize I still have a lot more money to spend!!!

Question, what kind of stress does the turbo mod put on the 3.4L engine assuming that is what you have. Knowing that the 3.4 has chunking problems, can this make that worse? Thoughts?
