A little fun project

So, I decided it is time to have some fun with my C4S and put some more $ into it. I am starting off with the interior. I went to my local fabric shop and bought them out of all their black suede fabric and went back to my shop and got to work. Here are some pics of the dash done so far. I am taking my time on this cause I only have the weekends to work on the car and I don't want to rush it. Once I finish the interior it is onto the outside. I will be doing a 997 gt3 front end conversion with a carbonfiber hood and carbonfiber roof. Here are some pics of the dash, sorry they are kinda sucky....only have my cell phone

I would not use fabric store suede. The sun will destroy it in a summer. Get fabric that has uv protectant or all that hard work will be for nothing

When I bought the fabric I also got a spray that is made for automotive to protect the fabric from UV rays and fading. I also use a windshield cover that blocks the sun from coming in and the windows are tinted. Plus, I never leave the car out. I take it out and then it goes right back in the garage. It never sits in the sun for a period of time

Looks nice! Suede makes a nice update to the 996 dash and other panels. I just dropped off my 996 for the GT3 front end/hood etc conversion, was planning on doing my dash and doors in dark grey suede later.

thankswww, are you doing a metal conversion or fiberglass? I am starting my front end once I finish the interior. The dash really isnt that hard to wrap. The top is the easiest, the bottom section where it wraps around the sides is the hardest part of it. The fabric wants to bunch at the corners. But, with patience and some planning it works lol. I just did the bezel on sunday and got that back in the car. I am really happy so far with the outcome. Next weekend I am starting the door panels.

Thank you jay and I will continue to post more pics as I get further into the project.

Kent, Thank you! I am eager to get started on the front end. I will def post pics of that once it is completed. I am also adding a carbon hood and roof to it also. The roof will sacrifice my sun roof but, oh well. Looks sweet on the cars.

@ PoRsChE_ShIfTiN : My entire GT3 front end is fiberglass. I'm using a fiberglass 997 hood too. I didn't go with OEM 997 metal parts because in the country I live, they cost roughly double what they would back in the States, and it was a fraction of the price just to have the entire fiberglass front end and lights etc fedexed to me here.

The lip is urethane, and the nose grille top piece is plastic. The gas cap is OEM 997 metal. The bodyshop that is installing my kit usually takes an OEM 996 fender, and then modifies it to fit the 997 lights, but the down side is that all the conversions produced here are using the OEM 996 hood, which is too square for my tastes and throws off the whole 997 front end.

Hope to get my car back after about a month. Changing the color to guards red. Can't wait.

I am doing a fiberglass front end also. I don't want to have to be cutting and welding parts. If I ever want to sell the car I want to be able to put it back to stock. I am doing the 996 hood on mine though. Maybe later on ill also buy a 997 carbon hood but for now i am staying with the 996 hood. Where did u order urs from? I am getting mine from extreme dimensions. I have heard good reviews on their product

FYI, be very careful with the Extreme Dimensions kit... I bought their 997GT3 style front bumper for my 996 and after a year the lower lip (which is a separate piece) was pretty scratched up. I tried to buy another lip and found out that they only sell the whole bumper and not the lip separately. I then tried to fit a factory lower lip and found out that the Extreme Dimensions bumper is not the same (about 1" shorter in width) so it would not fit. I now have no replacement options for the lower lip spoiler unless I want to buy another whole bumper for major $$$.

Great and my car is lowered!! That's the only company I can find with the fiberglass conversion. I do plan to reinforce the parts before installing them. If your lip is scratched then why not just have it re painted? How was the fitment out the box? Did it need to be modified a lot to fit correctly?

I actually have the polyurethane front bumper from them. The fitment was actually very good although figuring out how to mount 997 style sidemarkers on a 996 was a little tricky. LOL

My front spoiler issue includes some pretty deep scratches from hitting driveways, etc. It is not just a simple repaint. Most of the factory GT3 owners replace the lip from time to time to refresh the bumpers look. I was hoping to do the same but now I am left with just having the original sanded down and resprayed. Check to make sure the front lip for your bumper is available separately!
