Hey VF... had a question, if I upgrade my motor to a 3.6, would you guys flash my ECU to the new motor size? Or is this even required?

PS If you don't recall I bought a system off you for my 2001 3.4L 996 -- love it btw

Cheers
Aaron

Glad to hear, Aaron!
If you upgrade to the 3.6, you will need a reflash and possibly new injectors/other misc. items depending on the age of your kit. Since you are the original purchaser of the kit, we give 25% off any updates/reflashes needed.

I was to see how the trip trans and motors hold up after the installs?? Any motor can with stand 6psi for a little while.. and typically the auto vs standard trans always gives out a lot sooner.. What data do you have to make the 3.6 engine will be reliable for years on end and that it truly will withstand the abuse of 150 extra hp? What data do you also have to support the trans wont give out in 2k miles of actually "using" the blower instead of using as a "look at me" add on?

Look at the people who have been running them for years. Although, 470 from my research is at the ceiling of what the 3.4/3.6 can hold in terms of HP.

The durability of the transmission is affected by the Torque, not the 6psi directly or the HP. The kits have been available for 6-7 years now with over 400 units in operation. We're very happy with the feedback we've received from our VF-supercharged 911 customers.

Feel free to shoot me a PM or email sales@vf-engineering.com. I'll be glad to provide more detailed info regarding the end-product of reliability.

Hybrid is infamous around these partsHybrid is infamous around these parts
After reading 5 or 6 pages from this thread, I see a few common questions that I'd like to clear up. I've had the VFE kit installed and running hard in my 2003 C4S for 60,000 miles now, street and track.
#1 Actual HP, expect 380 at the wheels, (0.2” smaller pulley (from VF470 3.8” to 3.6”) Vortech part number 2A036-361 + 20mm smaller 6-rib serpentine belt (from VF470 2655 to 2635) Gatorback part number 6PK2635
#2 California, walk into the DMV and tell them your car is a Hybrid. They do not go out to the parking lot to check. No more smog, ever.
#3 Clutch, The ClutchMaster carbon ceramic FX-400 with a 6 puck pressure plate will hold the additional power, but brakes, rotors, tires & wheels, suspension, even seats will also require modification for this level of acceleration.
