\ VF-Engineering: 470hp 996 /

Hello everyone! We're proud to be sponsoring 6speed and look forward to providing you with information and products to help you take your 911's to the next level. Here is some info on our 996 superchargers:

VF470
Call, email, or PM and bolt on a 150 horsepower today!
  • 470 hp / 360 ft/lbs
  • 6.0 PSI
  • V3 supercharger
  • ECU software flash
  • 1 yr or 12k mi. warranty

We designed the kit around the Vortech V-3 because of it's size and efficiency. Utilizing a larger blower allows us to produce the same amount of boost while spinning the supercharger at a much lower RPM. This not only provides dependability, but more importantly produces less heat from the blower itself. Also, it is a self-contained unit which negates the use of extra oil lines and heavy oil coolers.

Combined with our integrated air-to-water cooling components using an OEM Bosch water pump and Factory grade bar and plate heat exchangers, our VF475 provides long-lasting and dependable power no matter the conditions or the driving style

No engine mods required. 100% bolt-on +150hp!!!

If you do decide to go with other mods, the power quotes from those mods can be added on top of the 470hp that we quote. The 470hp is on a stock 996.

Almost there. I can't imagine how anxious you must be haha.
I forgot, are you doing the install or is McKenna?

Toby, please PM me a quote. I noticed the specs in your post state 6psi. This is an additional .5psi than what most other 996 run, correct? Is the 150 HP gain on a 1st generation 3.4L or a 2nd generation 3.6? (Or both). Are you able to achieve this additional 50 HP (over the 100HP with just SC) with methanol injection that Vivid has posted about? Thx!

You guys are killing me. Really tempting me right now.

How long would the self contained SC estimated to last and any yearly maintenance on it?

What are the HP figures for the SC on a 3.4 motor in stock configuration?

When you reprogram the ECU, are you able to switch off the CEL light in case user wants to run catless X pipe?

Do you guys know to what point the ECU can adapt to addons like headers, x-pipe if the owner decides to add on after the initial tune or is there not enough of a safety margin requiring owners to send in their ecu's for reprogramming?

Thanks.

Email sent!

I forgot to state in the email that the extra .5psi you're mentioning is simply what we quote for all of our kits. The target psi is 6, but there is a range of variability that we choose to account for when we post figures.

I find it hard to believe that BOTH 3.4 and 3.6 motors are capable of making 470hp on stock engine configuration.

Any dyno sheets of 3.4L engines with this kit?

You read my mind. For several years I've read threads with owners claiming 100 extra horsepower, not 150. Perhaps that is the difference between Versions 2 and 3? There's a thread on here where a guy had Vivid put this SC on ALONG WITH meth injection... and he's around 470Hp. Please clarify this VF. Thx.

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-registry.html

This post has some data of SC owners with RWHP for 3.6 ranging from 380 - 400+, which is pretty close to 470 at the crank.

a 3.4 had 370 i think.

VF website bases 470 off the 320hp 3.6 motor

Hi guys,

I just sat down the Head of R&D and Lead tech and we spoke about the numbers. We only advertise 2002-2005, but here are the specs for 1999-2001 3.4:

996 3.4
Stock:
296hp
250tq

VF Supercharged:
425hp
350tq

*note- these are peak numbers. Gains (area below the curves) are greater.

The 470hp or more is achievable on a 996 3.4 with exhaust mods. Hope this clear things up for everyone. I'm going to update the website to show this info as well. Thanks, guys!

I'm not so bothered by the hp deficit on the 3.4 but would love to see a 3.4 SC dyno graph to see how much is really under the curve. Do you guys have any?
