1st snow storm with the C4. Yikes!!!

Well i bought this car to drive this winter and was curious how it would handle the snow and ice. Well today we had an unexpected dump and got about 3 inches. But it was right around freezing so the roads turned to ice. All i can say is this things sucks in the snow. Haha. The awd system was clearly not designed for snow which i knew in advance and wasnt shocked but its bad. I could get around alright but it slides all over the place and gets sideways every time you touch the gas. I turned off the psm and that was way more fun. I could slide it around at will and control the car better. I wanted to try it with the all seasons on it but tomorrow the winter tires and rims go on and i know that will make a huge difference. Once i drive it with the winter tires ill report back with better results im sure. Ill give this thing props for one thing. It has a great heater in it. Damn it gets hot.

My C4S with winter tires is fantastic in snow. I think you'll be happy.

You're right, the car won't do snow without high quality snow tires. "All-weather tires" aren't snow tires. It will do better when properly prepared and equipped for the snow.

Actually the closest thing to snow in SA is the confetti raining from the sky after the Spurs win it all. Go Spurs!

Yea tires make all the difference even with AWD. I had brand new all-seasons on my S430 (rwd not 4matic) and I got around with no issue last winter. I also had crappy summers on my EVO and it would slide everywhere.

Perfect in Scottsdale right now. Doubt my top will go up again until after New Year's. This is the absolute best time of the year for a rag top.

In San Francisco, my top's almost always down. The question is just whether I have my seat heaters on or not.

Up here in the mountains, it's ski season! I'm headed to Keystone in the morning for my first runs of the season. I'm taking the Cayenne...

I made it home last winter with a snow fall of about 4". Was unexpected weather but Colorado is like that. Mine is a C2, rear tires were almost bald and clutch was starting to go. Now that I think of it, I have no idea how I made it home that day. Even if I had a C4....I would still drive another car if you have one. I would have taken the Durango, but weather said we would not get any snow that night.

The AWD system only redistributes the torque so you don't spin your tires in the snow. To be able to grip onto the ice / snow, you need tires that are designed for that. Driving on hockey puck like summer tires will get you no where really fast in the snow. I thought being in Canada, you would understand that.......
