Good fit car seat (not a joke)
SubscribeSo please don't laugh, this weekend I had to pick up my nephew and stuff his car seat in the back of the 996. I was not happy with the fit, but glad I found the anchor points. So 996 owners with kids what is safest and best fitting car seat out there these days. Keep in mind I don't plan on doing any track days with him, maybe when I have my own kids. I'll just never tell him mom

belive it or not the best seat that i could find that fits well in my 996 is this cosco high back car seat from walmart

Here are the anchor points just incase if somebody needs to know where they are

better yet just remove the base of the seat it's just velcro'd on...Originally Posted by Predator

I purchased a Britax marathon 65, according to my research it's the best fit along with great safety, I have yet to install it in the P-car... but you can look into it to confirm...
There's a huge thread on rennlist on this. I suggest you look there.
You should be specific on what kind of seat or age of child you have as well.
I have two cheap Cosco seats that seem to fit well back there. I have removed my rear seats all together though. I'm in the process of modifying my seats further trimming off some excess for a more custom fit.

what would be funny is if some one had a cage and your little ones had to crawl over it to get into the car seat...LOL

Dang, that looks serious. Is that real? I got two Baby Recaros in the wife's car but the Recaros don't really fit well on the 996s.Originally Posted by BiteEmNBeatEm

I wouldn't wish a cage on even an adult in a street car where a helmet isn't worn all the time but I do see your humor.

Does anyone know what year they installed the rear anchor point? I've got a '99. I don't "feel" it when I run my hands over the location, but that doesn't mean it's there. I see that Bitemeneatem has them in his 2000. Just trying to see if anyone else can confirm if they have them on their '99.
Also, @ Biteem, could you feel them before you cut into them, or did you just know they were there and cut away?
Thanks,
DS

What alpin003 said. the carpet is kind of precut in that area but the foam realy isn't and its thick. Thats why if you look on my picture the carpet has a clean cut but the foam looks more ripped

Using a very sharp utility knife is the trick to clean cuts in that area.Originally Posted by BiteEmNBeatEm

I also have an awesome Recaro seat for my daughter in the DD but there's no way to fit it in the 996. She's using a Harmony booster seat from Walmart ($17.00) which fits perfectly with no mods Originally Posted by alpine003
