Evo Supercharger - I got questions.
Evo Supercharger - I got questions.
My car has 50k on the clock and runs great. However, I am craving more power ...so if were to throw one of these bad-boys on, would it be too hard on my motor? Also is it a DIY project, or does it involve a massive ammount of shop hours to install?
My car has 45k on the odometer. The supercharger is fairly tame and conservative at 6psi of boost, but its make a night and day difference. The power is just liked stock, but increased 30-40%. You will also experience no lag, the supercharger is very linear. My favorite mod so far. I also end up with a huge smile on my face after I drive the Porsche.
I will second what Drift said. I wouldn't do it as a DIY though. Took my shop about 35 hrs even though it only takes Evo about 15. I've got almost 50k miles on my car and did this about 1 1/2 years ago at 44k. No problems at all. Accelerates like a different car altogether.
Good luck
Good luck
I trusted it so much I put one on my brand new C4S. The power is positively intoxicating. You will love it. I put down 411 HP at the wheels. Thats close to 500 at the crank. SWEET!
I do not recommend doing the mod your self unless you are very competent mechanic. Should take a good mechanic about 20-25 hours to install.

no not smog legal but evoms keeps saying it's in the works
do it only if you have a newer car and don't need to get it smogged for another 5-6 years. i have a '99 so i would have to remove the SC kit evry 2 years for it to pass smog. it supposedly runs clean but it won't pass the visual test. if you know somebody who knows somebody who can turn a blind eye then ...
Ruf replaces engine internal components in any car with > 40K miles, and warranties the engine for 2 yrs. I'd be careful with the boost, nothing is free, added power has a price on the wear/tear of your motor.

. at that level might as well and do a TT/gt3 engine conversion
