Motor Mounts

Well I'm going to semi-solid mounts. I'm looking at RSS but Suncoast has the Porsche "RS Style" and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with either. I've heard good things about the RSS ones.

Check out Rennlist few threads there.
I just installed RSS ones on my car along with the Function First "yellow" transmission insert.

Is it hard to install? What is the benefit?

They are not hard to install, you need to secure the engine with a jack, remove air box and replace one at a time, takes a little over an hour. Benefits, crisper shifting, keeps engine in-line with the transmission, and no engine sagging.

Tightens up the feel of the car, eliminates vibration, makes shifting MUCH better, improves handling and eliminate or minimize perceptible body roll

Any of the mounts will feel better than what you have now. I've been happy with the Function First engine mounts for some time now. If you want the bling and actually open up your hood for everyone to see, then the RSS mounts may be the way to go. Fwiw, I've driven cars with RSS mounts as well and it feels very similar to the Function First.

I've got Wevo semi-solid mounts and they are very nice. It was a great improvement when they were installed.

I installed, or had my dealer install the RSS mounts. nice the nuts on the old ones rusted, it too a bit longer to do.

The ride through the twisties seem firmer.

I thought the engine vibrations came through the body more not less. I thought that was the only negative to upgrading.

I can see it eliminating vibrations from shifting with the engine and transmission being more solid. (in line)

Well I was looking at the Wevo's but there was some question as to the fit, which had to do something with the length of the bolt. I'll have another look.

FWIW, I looked at the RSS and Wevo semi solid mounts, but ended up buying Torque Solutions ... they were about $100 cheaper. They're not in the car yet (will it EVER stop raining?). I'll report back after I've installed them.
