Opinions on Rear Seats when selling/looking..

My C4s is going on the market next month and have a question for everyones opinion.

I have a rear roll cage in this and its coming out , the problem is I dont have the rear seats or seat belts as I sold them years ago. Should I list the car with no rear seats & Belts or should I buy a used set for something like $400 for it all and have the interior complete? Every buyer is diff. just trying to get a general consensus.

I know the rear seats are almost useless for any adults and really just for looks or personal preference to the owner. I actually like how it looks clean with just carpet there and more sporty but thats just me.

thanks anyone.

You are correct every buyer is different. You'll have to decide whether YOU would buy the car in the condition you are leaving in - for another to buy. I would not buy any car, especially one like a Porsche, or other exotic/sports car, with evidence of a roll cage/bar or missing interior parts. If I want it that way, I would make it that way with the intention of keeping it knowing that any visible modifications will put off half (or so) of potential buyers and jazz some others. At minimum, for me, it decreases the amount I would consider paying considerably. I would however make sure I advertised it EXACTLY as is, listing all missing or modified parts, so that potential buyers were not surprised when arriving to look at it. That way those coming to look are already aware of the condition.

The mentality of traditional Porsche buyers IMO is that they generally want a stock non-molested car that is all sorted out and ready to go with no issues. The exception might be the cars that are under 20k in which case those cars will attract some buyers willing to put up with some maintenance and minor repairs and even some stories.

I would not buy a car that had a cage in it or removed, this to me = track and hard driving, and I would not buy a car with missing seats again = track time and hard driving. Just my 1 1/2 cents....

rear seats

These cars are made to go on the track and be driven hard (not like a granny or abusive) but high revs, etc.

I have taken my rear seats out (black interior 99') they look like they've NEVER been used. Car has 73k miles now. I can ship you the base and backing if you want, for shipping and a small cost. You can probably source belts for pretty reasonable as well. If interested pm me, this is not a f.s add.

thanks for the replies..Not trying to hide anything to any prospective buyer..I didnt get near as much track time as I planned but IMO I dont mind a sports car driven hard but WELL taken care off. Again vs. a garage queen I'd take one driven and reasonable condition all day.

Also, the majority of us arent cup drivers so we are now where near taking the car to its super full limits as myself am just a casual driver wanted to go that next level.

I think one thing is when I am looking which I will be , depends on the owner as well, I think most of us here are more into the overall ownership of the car vs one that has a 911 just to "have" it.

thanks for the replies everyone.

Williamr91- sending you a PM. thanks also.

Nobody has just come out and said it, so I will: for resale purposes, put seats back in it.
