evo SC vs. tpc SC
it's a 3.6 and if i remember right, he's making somewhere in the neighborhood of 430 to the wheels. there is apparently some room for tweaking. i know there is a larger throttle body option which adds some HP.

Okay, went to sebring and checked out Bob from Foreign Affairs TPC charged 02 C4S.
In a nutshell, really nice. He still had the original prototype setup, with the many of the mods that eventually made it to the final kit. Didn't look too pretty, but again, he had a developmental one with all the functional upgrades completed.
the setup overall, looked great. nothing really looks out of place. looks factory somewhat. not loving the red lettering. they did that themselves. could look better, but just didn't like that particular lettering job. not too much to see in the pics as the SC is tucked away in the right portion of the engine bay.
anyway, the ride. holy smokes that car is fast. i've driven a stage4 TT. i'm convinced this car could hang till about 100 or so. the boost is so instant, other than the supercharger whine you'ld never know it was boosted. it threw me back in the seat from about 2500 on.... very very impressed. he claims to beat stock tt's and Gt3's all the time, and has the ability to hang with stage 2 and 3 TT's with no problem. i tend to believe him.
the SC unit on the TPC application is completely self contained with it's own oil supply. requires no maintenance for 100K miles. seems like a great idea based on that alone. not to mention they run the intercooler plumbing completely idependent of the car's cooling system, so if you blow something, no worries. not sure if evo does this or not.
didnt' really pull that hard in 5 or 6 gear, but then again i'm sure the tt doesn't either at 65-70mph. he ran it up to about 120ish and it never seemed to run out of steam.
i'd still like to take a spin in evo for comparison, but for my money i think the TPC is better produt. overall design, parts, and power delivery seem to be superior.
by the way, he's got 12K trouble free miles on his kit which included three track days. not bad. he did mention that he has had some funny off idle response since they started tinkering with the TB's. he did not recommend changing anything and to leave the kit just the way it is.
one other thing should be noted is that the TPC kit is almost double the install. not that it's necessarily more complicated, just slighty more involved. evo quotes 15, TPC quotes 20, and FA quotes 30ish as they do several more steps that even TPC doesn't.

oh, one other thing. he said his is making 410 to the wheels and 480ish to the crank. so i got my numbers mixed up. maybe TPC told me that. i know they offered larger TB's and a few other mods to bump it up.
oh well, one more pic.

it's an lg vx8000. i love it. best phone i have ever had. still small enough to fit in my pocket. takes awesome pics in decent light. it's a 1.3mp. no memory card though, so it's somewhat limited to the number of pics. 20 i think at high rez. you can rip them off the camera with a cable though which is nice. verizon tries to hose and make you email them at .25 a pop to get them off the phone. found a good forum that showed me how to to do it.
Wow, I can't even imagine how fast a lighter (& less driveline losses) 02-up C2 would be with that kit on it!!
...my prediction would be a high 11-sec 1/4 mile, trapping in the low 120's (MPH) (on street trim/tires) on a C2*
Thank you very much for that review!! Finally a TRUE, unbias account of the TPC kit***
...so basically that thing had a "night and day difference" in power increase everywhere ?? (Low end, mid range, high end/redline, etc...) Someone compared to dropping a "high-out 4.0L stroker race engine" in interms of power, would that be an accurate account ?

well, i got my installer in Tampa to commit to the install if I pull the trigger and buy the kit. i am still waiting to get a ride in an EVO just for comparison. I'm heavily leaning towards the TPC at this point though.
