REUS System Question

I have a REUS system in my C4S. I have two 8" woofers located behind my rear seats in a stealth and one 10" sub in the spare tire wheel well. However, the 8" subwoofers don't hit bass notes and the 10" rattles my front trunk. Therefore, I am looking to remove the 10" in the wheel well and install a couple bigger subwoofers in the rear of the car.

Should I go with 10" or 12" subwoofers? If 10", how many should I get? Also, do you recommend to go with REUS' or JL Audio's 10" subwoofers? Thank you.

I did high end installs 10 years ago while I was still in school so my info may be a little dated... JL was the way to go and from my perusing audio mags they still seam to be top notch. The sound quality--tightness--was awesome and overall spl will give you more than you need. I won many contests with 2 and 4 speaker 10" JL setups. Personally, Im going to do a 2 speaker JL setup. The surface area of 2 tens is obvioulsy greater than 1 twelve and will be tighter and louder. IMO twelves get a lil sloppy, so if its about quality, go tens. The volume in our little cabins will be deafening.

I've been looking at doing an enclosure with 2 8" in the back deck, new 4"s in the stock locations, and a new head unit. JL's were the plan, but I thought their 8"s were good down to about 30-38hz.

I had a system in my last 911 with a single JL 10". The quality was great, but if I cranked it up, I always felt that I wanted a little more. I second the 10" > 12". If you want to keep the bass tight, 10" is the way to go.

2 x 10" ought to do it.

Is there physically enough space in the rear for an enclosure for 2 JL W7 10" subwoofers? Also, each 10" subwoofer weighs 30 pounds!

Give Rick @ Reus a call because I know that he has done 10" and 12" in the rear. I think he even did 3 10's for Shank. Do you also have the midbass driver in the tunnel?

do you want to keep your back seats? Personally I would get rid of them, or do an enclosure that makes it look like they are folded down. Run two 10" woofers in the car.

I worked in car audio for 10 years instaling and running stores. I still have some very close friends in the industry. what state are you located?

I have 4 8" subs in the back. I'm scared to turn it up all the way. Reus said it might blow out my rear window.

2 10's should be good. 12's are a lot.

go 4 - 8" if you can. If you want really good bass, put them in the foot well. At least that's the way we did 964s. I don't think they are much different now.
