Numbers don't match

I bought a 2003 C4S from a Porsche dealer here. I was told it was owned locally by a doctor who purchased a Turbo. It was delivered in March 2003, I bought it in November 2003 with 5,000 miles on it.
In searching for option codes I find out that the VIN # on the dash and on the body don't match the VIN number on the sticker under my hood nor do the option codes match this car. The sticker in the owners manual VIN matches the under hood options and VIN on the sticker. How could this happen? Any suggestions on what to do?

The owners manual and hood sticker match each other, but they don't match the car's stamped VIN#

Do you mean the window sticker rather than the owners manual?

When a new Porsche is delivered to the dealer, part of the pre-delivery inspection is to stick one option sticker to the underside of the hood and one in the manual. It sounds like they mixed up the stickers when the car arrived at your dealer. There's probably another car driving around with your car's option stickers.

Porscha is right. Take it back to the dealer and point out their mistake.

I've called them. They want to see the car. They said this never happens. Now I'm really worried. I've got a call in to the original owner.

Does anyone on here have a sticker attached under the hood lid and a sticker in the "maintenance sports cars handbook that doesn't match the stamped codes on the car body?

The dealer said the sticker on the trunk lid and in the manual are incorrect, and wrongly put on at the factory. The options stae right hand drive, etc. The VIN on the three body plases don't match the vin on the stickers. They will try to get me a correct pair of stickers for this car. There's apparently a car running around in the UK with my sticker on it.

Porche does make mistakes. My Speced order for a 03tt called for Red stitching on all exclusive options and the Window sticker listed them, problem was that they were not on the car. Dealer resolved it but it took 8 months to get the correct parts and a lot of follow up to resolve

My problem is minor to that. The service guy said the stickers are put on by hand, the person doing it obviously swithed them.
