Sorry to hear the SC set-up you dumped $$$$ on didn't run strong enough but on a 3.6L 996 an EVO SC'ed car will easily hand a stock TT its *** and even beat an X50 TT*** (11.8@120.4 mph is NOT stock TT performance....try, mid to low 12's @ 115-117mph)

Do you know for a fact that the EVO was a STOCK SC setup. I would doubt it, but do not know for sure. I would suspect the the car has been tweaked considerably more than is done for their retail SC product. Todd might jump in and answer for us. This might include a little more than the standard 6 psi of boost, a little timing change, weight reduction, exhaust, 18 inch wheels, etc. I DO knno the cars are capable of doing those types of runs, but not on the standard setup.

Just a guess on my part, tho.

Todd or someone from EVO ?? Can you comment on that please! I (we) are assume that run is nothing more than a stock 3.6L with your base kit on it....on a stock weight 997 C2.... ??

i could be mistaken, but i believe it was a stock 3.6 with the standard kit. i do remember that their numbers were corrected for altitude.

why would you lash out at me for the asian comment?

one. you started talking about dicks.

two. it is a well known fact that asians are tiny. seen enough internet port to verify that. the poor irish got shortchanged too so we're in that boat together.

three. i'm just ****ing with you and you know it....

had to break my comments up into two posts in response to the above...

on the contrary, i am very happy with my SC kit. i'm just kind of having fun tinkering with it. i'm not sure i would do the small power mods if i hadn't done the SC, but they seem to work nicely with the SC, so why not? besides, it's fun to say the car makes 500 HP i'm at the point now where i would like to do a few more power mods to see how far i can take it, without spending obscene amounts of money or compromising the engine.

with regards to the GT2 power. i wasn't going to even comment on that, but.... i was at Sebring yesterday with Luis993 and his dad, Luis Sr. Luis Sr. has a really nice 02 GT2. Still stock more or less with a fabspeed exhaust. Luis Jr. asked me to take his dad for a ride. Now... his comments, not mine, "the car felt faster, at least in the lower gears than my GT2". I've never driven a GT2 and I'm not saying my car is faster. I'm just relaying the comments from a GT2 owner after riding in my car. It does feel like a beast in first and second as the boost comes on very quickly. Again, I'm not making any claims that my car is faster than a GT2. I just found it flattering that a GT2 owner would make that comment about my lowly C2

now luis jr has a 95 993 coupe. chipped with no cats. it's really fast. he swears that it's stock minus the chip and cat removal. i actually watched him hold off a late model z06 (not the new one) on the straights at sebring yesterday over and over again. anyway, him and I have drag raced a bunch for fun. usually during roll ons, we were about even, with a very slight nod to me as the runs progressed. very slight. we hadn't done any comparisons since the blower install. well, we did two runs from about 50 mph yesterday. you know the three beep and go thing. walked on him both times. hard. wasn't even close whereas we used to be neck and nec. the SC works as long as you keep the revs up. you get nothing out of it if you don't rev the **** out of it. but keep those rpms high and you're handsomely rewarded.

i'm not sure what was wrong with your SC eric, but mine works I am humble enough to recognize that a properly modded turbo will bring the power sooner and longer, and eat my dumb *** for lunch

unfortunately, i don't know. couldn't get a spot. i waited too long to register. luis993 signed up so i went out there as a cheerleader

looks like a blast though. i've been out there a couple times to spectate for other stuff. i may try to get in the next one if i can get my suspension sorted out. i am sorely in need of an alignment from the pss9 install. sway bars are in order as well.

here's a link to Todd at EVO talking about the run and his setup.

11.6 corrected on the same setup as mine. i'd say that's an improvement over stock

Hey ddog,

Did you by any chance see the Foreign Affairs TPC SC'ed C4S at sebring that day or any other days at Sebring running anymore (since your initial test ride in it). Spoke to the owner and he says he spanks X50 TT's and *GT3's* with seasoned drivers on that track regularly in his car on street tires.

Yes, I did. Although he wasn't running it on the track that day. I did invite him for a little "street" testing at the end of the day, and he declined based on the fact that he was pressed for time with his track event duties. Maybe another time.

He'll beat me. It's a more powerful kit. The full boost comes on much sooner. It would be fun to do for giggles though Shame they don't have the technology and support edge that evo has.

Yeah...i wish someone WITH the kit would do some acceleration testing one of these days...apparently there ARE a good number of these kits out there...just nobody on these boards. (Except for "RoverRon" who sold his car but stated he ran an 11.4 e.t. in his TPC'ed 2000 Cab C2! ..even I told him i'd have to see the timeslip to believe it, a 3.6L C2 maybe**)
